early light
This time of day in November the sun is low and intense. Hard not to want to capture it.
It does the most amazing things to everyday stuff.

thoughtfulness
aren't we blessed when something comes into our lives unexpectedly....
like good weather or a package in the mail.
I opened the mailbox not too long ago and found this lovely vase
- a totally unexpected gift
from a woman I had emailed
when I read her book.
she had read on FB about my buying myself
a stem of flowers as soul food.
I was amazed, pleased, overwhelmed, thankful
and wishing I could be this person
who unsolicited sends something
to someone just because....
in the moment, an act of kindness.
another trip down to the bog
Pleasant Mountain |
the bridge by the beaver dam |
the baffle to keep the beavers from building their dam (doesn't keep them out) |
this time of year the mornings are cold and the sun intense.
We started this day with 13 degree temperature
and Arctic fog which made it very pretty.
The bog is starting to make up with ice,
a pretty skim which comes
and goes depending on the temperature
during the day and the sun.
All in all it is a great time of year to be out. Barren but beautiful.

weaving again
My loom and I had a falling out last spring.
My warp was not happening and I got pissed and walked away.
I put the loom in a corner.
Well the weather has changed and my disposition has improved so I tried the same warp and bingo it went on so I am weaving once again.
This is not a passion with me. There are passionate weavers out there.
I am not that person.
I play with this ... a row or two or 20 depending on the day. Stop and start. No pattern ... definitely free style weaving with mistakes left in. I like what I do overall and am always amazed that most turn out really rather well. At least they please my eye and soul.
